What do we do here?

Climate and Health for Occupational Preparedness and Safety is the framework used by Dr. Augusta Williams to leverage her expertise in environmental and occupational health sciences to increase climate resilience and preparedness of our workforce. Under this framework, she leads Climate Services for Worker Health and Safety, where she works with employers and workers to provide safety and health recommendations for protecting workers from hazardous heat or wildfire smoke. She also is a key figure at her institution to Climate-Informed Health Professionals. She educates future public health and medical professionals on the health impacts of climate change, to equip them with the skills needed to make our local healthcare systems more resilient to climate change. Dr. Williams’s educational priorities, applied research, and community outreach focuses making sure local workforces and workplaces are prepared to address and mitigate the health impacts of climate change.
